National unity, Social cohesion, and the Holistic developments

Social Studies plays a vital role in shaping well-informed, responsible, and active citizens. As a subject that integrates knowledge from various disciplines such as Geography, History, Economics, Government, and Sociology, Social Studies equips pre-service teachers with the tools to understand and engage meaningfully with the society in which they live.

At Presbyterian College of Education, Social Studies is taught through a dynamic and interactive approach. Lessons are student-centered, with an emphasis on inquiry, discussion, and real-world application. Tutors employ a variety of teaching strategies, including case studies, debates, simulations, field trips, and project-based learning, to make Social Studies both engaging and impactful.
