Strengthening science education as a pillar of national progress and sustainable development

At Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong Akuapem, we recognize the critical role science education plays in national development and innovation. As one of Ghana’s premier teacher training institutions, our commitment to excellence in the teaching and learning of science is both a reflection of our heritage and a response to the evolving educational landscape.

Science education in Ghanaian Colleges of Education, including our institution, is strategically designed to equip pre-service teachers with a strong foundation in scientific knowledge, pedagogical skills, and critical thinking. The aim is not only to prepare effective science teachers for the basic schools but also to foster a spirit of inquiry, problem-solving, and creativity among future generations of learners.
