Rev. Dr. Nicholas Apreh Siaw

Rev. Dr. Nicholas Apreh Siaw is an accomplished educationist, administrator, and minister with over two decades of leadership experience in tertiary education and public service. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Health and an M.Phil. in Health/Medical Sociology from the University of Ghana, and a B.A. in Social Sciences with a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast. He also holds a Certificate in Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary and has received specialized ministerial training from the Ramseyer Training Centre, Abetifi.

Career and Leadership
Dr. Siaw has held several key leadership positions, most notably serving as Acting Vice- Chancellor of Koforidua Technical University, where he successfully led the institution’s transition from a polytechnic. Under his leadership:

  • 23 new Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programmes and 8 Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programmes were developed.
  • Strategic academic partnerships were established with institutions in Germany, the USA, and China.
  • The university ranked second nationwide during the national conversion assessment of polytechnics to technical universities.

He also served as Dean of Faculty, Head of Department, Dean of Students, and a member of numerous academic boards and development committees, contributing significantly to institutional governance and policy reform.

At the Presbyterian College of Education, he promotes policies that foster access to quality teacher training, the integration of special education principles, and gender-responsive academic environments. Dr. Siaw has authored nine published academic articles and has seven manuscripts currently under peer review. His research focuses on pediatric injury management, health-seeking behaviors, HIV/AIDS education, and occupational health and safety in institutional settings.

Personal Life
He is married and blessed with three children. Beyond academia, he serves as a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, currently stationed at the Peace Congregation in Akropong. He is passionate about youth mentorship, music, and community transformation through education and ministry.
